About this ingredient
Kiyomi is a Japanese citrus variety born from a cross between satsuma mandarin (Citrus unshiu) and sweet orange, and Ehime Prefecture is one of its main growing regions. Verish Inc. sources Kiyomi from Ehime through its own fresh produce business, steam-distills the peel at its distillery in Japan, and supplies the resulting floral water as a cosmetic ingredient.
About the INCI name
The INCI name "Citrus Unshiu/Aurantium Peel Water" was registered through an application by Verish Inc. in 2023 and announced in April 2024. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first cosmetic ingredient commercially introduced under this INCI name (as of the announcement, based on our own research). The ingredient is listed in the EU CosIng database, and its Japanese labeling name, シトルス(ウンシウ/アウランチウム)果皮水, is included in the Japanese cosmetic ingredient labeling name list. It has been adopted in products of a Japanese hair-care brand.
